Health and Fitness Friday!

For the month of August (and now September) I signed up for ClassPass. For those of you that don't know, I like to try new fitness routines as often as possible. You have to keep things interesting.

Here's how ClassPass works. You sign-up and pay $99 per month. You can attend up to 10 classes in 30 days, but now more than 3 of the same class. Since I typically buy, a 10 pack of Barry's Bootcamp classes for $320 and a 5 pack of FlyWheel classes for $165, this is a great deal since these classes are offered through ClassPass. Expensive otherwise, I know!

In addition to attending my normal classes, I have been able to try a few new ones a long the way.

First on the list was Warrior Fitness Bootcamp. The workout is a drill instructor led class that consists of various workouts and an obstacle course. It. Is. Intense. No one told me that I would be running 20+ flights of stairs by the end. I highly recommend it though. Even though the instructors can be a bit scary, they are nice, but don't take it easy on you just because it's your first time.

I have been twice now and plan on returning in the coming weeks. Yes, I did complete the obstacle course (minus the rope, I have NEVER been able to climb one...not even in gym class). I was surprisingly good at the monkey bars though. Go figure.

I highly recommend trying ClassPass if it's offered in your city. I will warn you though, their interface needs a serious makeover, but their customer service team is very nice.

I will be reviewing the other classes I have tried in the coming weeks.

What do you do to continuously challenge yourself?

Have a great weekend!

Weekend Recap!

Happy Monday!  It was a very uneventful weekend.  I was still off today, thank goodness.  The only exciting thing we did was venture to the Target in Brooklyn.  Crazy times.

This picture sums up Friday, Saturday & Sunday.

We did start creating our long list of "to dos" around the City.  Hoping to check at least one thing off per weekend.

Rather than boring you with what we didn't do this weekend, I thought I'd back track and give a recap of Christmas festivities.  I already recapped NYE here.  It seems like forever since we've been home, but we have some great photos that captured the awesome family time.

Amazing home cooked meal first night back.
As you may remember, for my parent's wedding anniversary, we sent them to Blue Stem.  So while we were back for the holidays, we all headed down there for happy hour.  Adorable place!

The gang at Blue Stem.

Steak bruschetta for dinner one night.  Easy meal that can can really impress.
Every year since Jaime and I have been together, our parent's have taken turns hosting the others family for Christmas Eve cocktails.  This year, since everyone was in town, we decided to host everyone for dinner at my parent's for Christmas Eve.  Lots of cocktails, food and games.

Enjoying cocktails at the Rash's.
My parents definitely know how to host a party.  So cozy!

Sauteed asparagus wrapped in proscuitto with baby tomatoes.  Addicting.

I wish we had a fireplace in our apartment.

A starving group ready to dig in to my mom's traditional ham and potato salad Christmas Eve meal.

Great picture of the this trio.  :)

One big happy family.

Christmas morning stockings at the Rash house.
Hoping this week is better than last.  This flu is going around thick people, so keep your hands washed and get some rest.  It took me out for the entire week last week and into this weekend.

Health and Fitness Friday!

I'm not sure why this didn't go live on Friday, but here you go...

Happy Friday!

This week was insane.  It started off a little rocky, but we all made it through.  I wish wine was allowed everyday at your desk.  I guess I will live with it happening every Thursday at our office.

I have a haircut this weekend.  Thank God too, my hair is getting a bit too long.  I just had a haircut and color, but I didn't get enough taken off last time.  I hate this mid length; where it's not really a long bob or short hair.  It is just hanging here now.

Here is some inspiration I'm using for my appointment this Saturday.

In other news, I did a guest blog post for The Lean Green Bean that will be up on Saturday.  In case you haven't checked out her site, it's amazing!  So many great recipes and fitness tips.  Definitely inspirational.  I really admire her food prep Sundays as well.  I'm good at food prep, but not THAT good.  Definitely head over to her site for some health advice.

Have a great weekend!
